The White House Oval office and Martha Bethany

In The Battle for Jesus, the White House Oval office is run by Martha Bethany who is chosen by The First Lady as the President’s PA.

In the novel, set in 2006, the President allows the First Lady to choose his personal assistants.

Martha Bethany runs the White House Oval office like clockwork.

The First Lady does not know that Martha is of the Holy Land. She simply has a ‘good feeling’ about her.

The First Lady knows, within herself, that Martha is ‘right’ for the President.

The President, too, gets the ‘vibes’ that there is something special about Martha, but he cannot put a finger on what it is that makes her such an outstanding administrator.

Professionally, he and Martha get along famously.

In this picture Martha Bethany is in the background, on the steps, toting a pitcher of water or wine. Mary Bethany is at Jesus’ feet. Many think that this is Mary Magdalene. Not so. It is Mary Bethany, Martha’s sister.

In the Holy land, both Martha and Mary Bethany would know Mary Magdalene. In the novel, (set in 2006) I have re-invented Martha as the President’s PA. She is good friends, as close as sisters, with Mary Magdalene. (Mary Bethany, Martha’s sister, is not in the novel).

Martha’s day job is in the Oval Office, but she also helps her partner, Saint Thomas, run a farm.

To the Left is a very special picture of the President and the First Lady at the Resolute desk in the Oval Office.

The First Lady has chosen well in Martha. The President’s desk is clean and tidy, all paperwork done!

The President has an aura of warmth and confidence.

The First Lady holds herself well; a mature lady, a mother, tastefully dressed, projecting support for her husband.

In the story, as a diligent PA, Martha would fit into this scene perfectly.
