Muchmore Broadcasting Services, MBS
Muchmore Broadcasting Services, MBS, is owned by Saul Muchmore, a British media baron based in New York. Expanding Muchmore Broadcasting Services within the US and worldwide creates a conflict between himself and Jesus. And, at first, Jesus has to go.
Mr Muchmore’s newspapers and magazines dominate the US and the world markets. But he yearns for more, and in the beginning of the story he is in the throes of purchasing satellite feeds from the White House to link his TV stations and form a network primarily across the US and then globally. He has an insatiable desire to ‘own the world’ but his journey to Washington takes him onto The Orchard Road where he finds something even more precious and grand. He finds love.
A storm forces Mr Muchmore to take refuge in a chapel where he meets the Archangel Saint Michael and The Mother Mary. They show him kindness. Mr Muchmore realises that Jesus truly is Jesus from the Holy Land and that he is no imposter.
The kindness of The Mother Mary and Saint Michael converts Mr Muchmore. He joins the fight against climate change. Later, he falls in love with Mrs Lydia Eastman who seals his determination to support Jesus in every possible way.
Both Mr Muchmore and Mrs Eastman are ‘mortals’ (see Behind The Scenes: The Worlds within the story) but their characters are based on icons of the Holy Land. The Battle for Jesus is laced with symbolism: Saul who became Paul, was a prime mover of Christianity; and Lydia was believed to be the first European convert.

The above picture is a typical example of a high frequency satellite from which Mr Muchmore is seeking ‘feeds’ to hook-up his TV stations and create a network across the US, and then world wide.
Driven by this ambition he finds himself walking the Orchard Road where he becomes an ardent convert to Jesus.
